pROJECT 1: Anna-Marie photo restoration

Original scan of hard copy with a first run enhancement of facial features.

Project Notes: An initial scan of the original hard copy with a early first run draft of facial enhancement. (upated-092523)

Draft 1 Notes: Very noisy image, more than expected, once scanned for a closer look.
Facial enhancement was the first step in the process and presented here as an example.

Draft 2 Notes: Cleaned up additional noise. Repaired micro-scratches and dust. Resurrected facial details
and adjusted over-all color-casting and light.

1. Allan age 12 with parents, slight adjustment to highlights and shadows.  Very little detail to work with.

2. Allan and Lillian courtship was much the same as previous

3. Bill and Eva, fixed what appears to be lower and upper rips through the image or a black drawing across the image.  Also adjustments to highlights and shadows.

4. And the winner out of the four is Lillian and brother Lyle and Earl  Was able to bring enough detail out to make a big difference.  Adjusted some of the highlights and shadows.

PROJECT 3: ANNA-MARIE PHOTO RESTORATION

Project Notes: Images completed and ready for print. For consistency and best quality, most images are sized at 5” X 7”. In some cases this is the actual size of the originals for others they have been upscaled to this dimension so they will be slightly larger than the original. There are two square images in dimension that are sized to 5” X 5”.

It should also be noted, that all images submitted have been processed. Some had a better outcome than others, but overall, results are better than I expected. A good example of this is the image directly above. This was actually a picture of a picture which typically don’t process well, but this one cleaned up very nice as you can see.
