pROJECT: ranbir randhawa photo restoration

Although the image is relatively good shape, I did go ahead and tweak a few areas to bring out some key features. One of these key areas was the definition along the chin to cheek of your mother. It just appeared a little washed-out and I wanted to better define her face with this subtle shadow. There were also some excessive light reflection in bother their eyes from the studio flash. This was also touched up to further accentuate the eyes which are stunning features on both of them.

There were also a series of blemishes across the entire picture such as dots and dust and minor scratches. I went ahead and removed all of these. The biggest challenge by far was the enlarging of the image from the original size of 4 X 3 (approx). I managed to find the threshold of 8 X 6. This did however cause some pixilation as expected. Several passes were done to smooth these out to give more of a smoother natural look. As with any image of this vintage, it is nearly impossible to get the picture to look as it was taken just yesterday, but you can get pretty close. I think that was achieved here.

next steps

I will sending this off to my printer today following a few additional minor adjustments that need to be done. They usually turn these around in under a week depending on their volume. Once I get that, we will then proceed with getting it framed and matted for presentation.

Any questions, please let me know. I am thrilled to be able to work on this special project of yours and seeing the final product. - Brad
